Cheri Beasley Appalled at U.S. Senate for Playing Politics with Veterans Health Care

RALEIGH: Today, candidate for U.S. Senate Cheri Beasley called out Washington politicians after the Senate refused to pass the Honoring Our PACT Act, which would expand access to health care and benefits to roughly 3.5 million veterans exposed to burn pits and give Camp Lejeune families the right to seek monetary relief due to harms from water contamination:

“It is repulsive that our Senators chose to play politics with the lives of service members, veterans, and military families by refusing to pass widely supported, bipartisan legislation to get them the care they need. These kinds of outrageous political games are exactly what the people of North Carolina are sick and tired of – and it underscores exactly what’s at stake in this election and why we must elect a Senator who will put the people first.”
Cheri Beasley wrote an op-ed in the Fayetteville Observer and stood shoulder-to-shoulder with North Carolina veterans to urge the Senate to pass the Honoring Our PACT Act and called out Congressman Ted Budd for his vote against it in the House earlier this year
