Cheri Beasley: “Budd’s Vote Against CHIPS Act is Latest Reminder He is a Washington Insider Who Puts Politics Over North Carolinians”

RALEIGH: Today, candidate for U.S. Senate Cheri Beasley called out Congressman Budd for playing politics with North Carolina’s economy by voting against the bipartisan Creating Helpful Incentives to Produce Semiconductors (CHIPS) for America Act, which would boost American manufacturing of semiconductors.

“At every turn, Congressman Budd shows us that he is a consummate Washington politician who is only beholden to party politics and corporate donors and will always vote against North Carolina’s interests. His vote today against legislation that will create good-paying jobs, boost our economy, and lower costs is the latest reminder that he is, at his core, a Washington insider who puts politics over North Carolinians.”

North Carolina is home to several semiconductor manufacturing facilities. Yesterday, Cheri applauded the passage of the CHIPS Act. Throughout her campaign, Cheri has shared her commitment to fighting for a Made-In-America economy and supporting North Carolina’s manufacturing industry.
